An embarrassing shock for Jetstar and Virgin Australia this month as figures from April showed that Tiger Airways is now more reliable than both.
Last year Tiger was grounded after becoming everyone’s love-to-hate airline but it seems it is now back on track, if not yet flying all of the same routes – 89% of Tiger flights were on time last month, whereas only 76% of Jetstar* flights and 78% of Virgin* flights.
Tiger has also announced that it will re-start flights to Hobart from November with fares from $45.95. Since Tiger stopped flying there the average cost of tickets to Hobart has more than doubled in an unpleasant and rather too obvious display of predatory pricing.
